London (UK)

Squire and Partners challenge was to create a sustainable masterplan, including 284 homes, a new state of the art Leisure Centre, shops, restaurants and public spaces.

’Designed as an exemplar sustainable development, set to push the boundaries for tall buildings in London, the scheme will achieve Level 4 or above under the Code for Sustainable Homes.’’ – Squire and Partners.

The residential tower block One The Elephant contains 254 homes and reach views across London. This tender and elegant tower rises up to 37 storeys and is clad vertically in sections with gold metal. To create different levels of light and reflection, they used three finishes: ColourTex Gold 6WL, ColourTex Gold Granex 6WL and ColourTex Gold Satin 6WL. The adjoining low-level building contains 30 homes and was clad with one gold metal finish in order to keep the consistency on the building.
