Mooijburg Apartments

Amsterdam IJburg (NL)

This biobased apartment building with 15 apartments was built in 2023-2024 and is located on Mooijburg Plein, Centrumeiland. The façade was designed in collaboration with future residents to visually reduce the block's scale and create a more inviting connection with the single-family homes on either side. The natural stone plinth forms the foundation for differently clad wooden apartments, each with its own unique roofline and shape.

Solid natural facing bricks in the mix Macedonia were chosen for the natural stone plinth, giving the building a robust appearance. The color palette, featuring gray, brown, blue, yellow, and beige, creates a beautiful contrast with the other façade materials.
