holiday home

Paterswoldse Meer (NL)

On a unique location, one of the islands in the Paterswoldsemeer, this holiday villa was realized. The design was created by +Peil Architectuur and forms a beautiful unity with the green surroundings. It feels as if the holiday home has stood there for hundreds of years — with a modern twist.

The house is built on a platform, finished with flagstones and natural façade stone, both sourced from the same quarry. On top of this, the holiday home was constructed entirely of brickwork in the Black Sea selection. The flagstones extend seamlessly from outside to inside, creating one continuous experience.

At the rear of the home, a shower and changing area were built, with walls made of solid natural stone featuring a broken structure on both sides. The finishing is all about the details: the gravel around the trees comes from the same quarry as the façade stones and flagstones. In addition, the window frames and roof edge are extremely slender, resulting in a truly unique overall picture.
